It’s the morning of Christmas Eve at the North Pole and Santa and his elves are busy putting the finishing touches to all of the Christmas presents. When Santa leaves and Elfis the elf leaves the door open, the polar bears sneak inside and scare the elves away. By the time the elves get back into the workshop they all have bad colds and cannot finish the wrapping. Has Elfis ruined Christmas?
The stage was set as Santa’s Workshop for this year’s Pre-Prep Christmas production ‘A Dancing Christmas Party’. The children in Reception and Year One were dressed up as toys, reindeer and polar bears, with Year Two playing the characters of elves, polar bears, Father Christmas and of course those in the all-important Nativity scene. The children started the story in Santa’s Workshop but through the play, and the many songs, they explained the real meaning behind why we celebrate Christmas. All the children in Pre-Prep had worked incredibly hard to learn the words and actions for each song and they all thoroughly enjoyed their moment on stage performing to the many parents who came to watch. The Year Two pupils, in particular, learnt and delivered their lines beautifully. The children became more animated on stage as they grew in confidence with each performance. It was a wonderful production by the youngest members of MCM and it certainly got everyone’s toes tapping as they too wanted to join in the Dancing Christmas Party!
