Design & Technology Trip to Southampton University Malaysia Campus

On Monday 11th November the Design and Technology students from Remove and Hundred were taken on a trip to The University of Southampton’s Malaysia campus in Educity, Iskandar. After an introductory talk by Professor John McBride about studying Engineering at Southampton we were taken on a tour of the Engineering Department. This included a brief talk about choosing the right materials in engineering projects, followed by a practical session in the electrical engineering laboratory. The students were given a basic soldering task which resulted in a fun LED messaging display. Many thanks to everyone at Southampton for a very informative and enjoyable visit.
