U9, U11 & U14 Cross-Country friendly – Pasir Ris

On Wednesday 9th October, thirty two MCM pupils headed out to Pasir Ris to take part in the final Junior School and Middle School friendly of the season ahead of the upcoming championships; twelve in the U14 category and twenty children representing the Prep School.

After an early arrival and a good warm-up the children were ready to go, albeit with a few last minute nerves. The U9 and U11 teams had a 2km course to look forward to, and the U14 team a slightly longer course of 3km.

After a rather hectic start all the children set off and soon disappeared into the distance. They soon reappeared and started flooding through the finishing tunnel. All three MCM teams did really well, with particular mention going to Maxi Heinrichs (7JM) who came 9th out of a large field of U11 boys, William Ackerley (7SS) who came 14th for the U14 boys, closely followed by Harry Miller (Year 8) in 16th place, Alice Nicholson (4CL) who came 22nd in the U9 girls race and Robin Van Sallandt (Shell), 7th in the U14 girls category.

A big ‘Well done’ to all the runners who took part.
