Netball Development Day

On Saturday 15th June the MCM girls from Years 6 – 10 were given a fantastic opportunity to take part in a netball development day. A team from Anza Club in Singapore came with their coach Craig, who took a skills session in the morning. Craig was brilliant and the girls were caught up by his enthusiasm as they worked on their attacking, defending and movement of the ball down the court.

In the afternoon the Anza and Marlborough teams mixed up and played a round robin tournament. It was great to see Marlborough playing with and getting to know Anza and the standard was the highest I have seen all term.

To finish, Marlborough played Anza in a very tense match. Anza seemed to be racing ahead, but Marlborough were just keeping the crowd tense. They came roaring back in true Marlborough style and managed to end with a draw at 7-7.

All in all it was a terrific day and the girls benefited hugely from the variety and standard of skills that were on display.
