John holds a Master’s Degree in Music education (MMUS) from European University Cyprus, Bachelor Honours Degree (BMus. Hon) from University of Pretoria (South Africa); and Music Teachers’ Diploma from Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce (Zambia); He is also certified in Violin by Trinity College London and has extensive practical experience in teaching and playing a wide range of instruments such as violin, piano, saxophone, Clarinet and Voice to a diploma standard. He also has a vast experience in Orchestration, Brass band and Choral Conducting.

John was elected Vice President of the Eastern African Region of the Pan-African Society for Musical Arts Education -PASMAE – ISMAE (2017 -2019) and served as a Chairperson for July 2019 International Music Education Conference hosted by the government of Seychelles.

After being an intern music teacher at International School of Lusaka, Zambia he went on to Baobab School in Gaborone, Botswana where he started his international teaching as a Primary Music teacher and introduced a vibrant orchestra and choir which went on to win “My African Dream School challenge 2010”.

Since 2016 John has been the Head of Music Department at International School of Seychelles where he will ever be remembered as a founder and organiser of the national interschools/organisations choir festival.

John is married to Situmbeko (Lawyer) and they have two children: a daughter, Vanessa and a son, John.
