Amy graduated with a BA in Drama at Wolverhampton and started her education career as a Drama teacher in Twyford Church of England High School after studying for her PGCE at the University of Central England.
Her subsequent teaching and arts specialist role at the Bridge Academy in Hammersmith, London initiated her career working with children with learning difficulties, including students with emotional and behavioural needs. Amy extended this work as a behaviour consultant with the London Borough of Ealing for seven years before becoming the borough’s Parenting Lead in 2009.
She received a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from Thames Valley University in 2005, and her postgraduate Diploma in IAPT (Increasing Access to Psychological Therapeutic Support and Treatment of Childhood Emotional and Behavioural Disorders) was awarded jointly by University College London and King’s College London in 2015.
