NOSCE TE IPSUM

Welcome to Steel House

Welcome to Steel house, the 2nd girls boarding house at Marlborough College, Malaysia.

I am privileged to be the new Housemistress of this wonderful house. We are excited to be able to welcome a fantastic cohort of girls to join us. I am looking forward to getting to know all of the girls personally whilst working alongside a dedicated group of tutors. Together, we intend to support, encourage and guide the girls in all aspects of their College lives.

The house motto Nosce te Ipsum (To Thine Own Self Be True) We hope that the girls will strive to be true to themselves and to identify their own strengths and values. Life is a series of choices and helping all of our girls to make the right choices is key to their success. Together, I am sure that this will be a very happy experience and the start of a very memorable journey.

Pupils' Perspectives

Pupil Perspective | Steel House Boarder

The boarding life here is fun. Every weekend we do something unique whether it's shopping, sightseeing or just a simple walk, it is better than staying at home playing computer games or even skyping with your friends because in boarding, your friends are just a few metres away. Barders don't have to worry about being late for school or coming back to house late as you live just a few minutes away and burn calories on the way. Long story short, it's having your own school family.

An aspect of boarding that I've found myself to enjoy is the friends that you will encounter as you board, and playing sports alongside these friends can be extremely enjoyable.

Boarding may sound like a daunting aspect of school. However, it is probably one of the best choices I have made in life. Boarding not only allows you to enjoy the prospect of staying with your friends, it teaches you how to live with others and experience different cultures in this multinational community. You may be far from home, but as you spend time with the people in the boarding community, you will gradually become part of the family.
