Fees continue to be payable in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). For illustrative purposes only, a Singapore dollar value is shown using an exchange rate of RM3 to SGD1.

Payment by bank transfer

All school fees are payable by bank transfer by the first day of each term.  Please be careful to send the transfer to M East Sdn Bhd not Marlborough College as the bank will return payments at a charge for incorrectly named transfers.

All payments should be made in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), the exact amount must be received and all bank charges are to be borne by the remitter.

Parents who do not have a MYR bank account can remit funds to our SGD account. The SGD received will be transferred from the SGD account to our MYR account on the following working day. All bank charges and forex differences remain the responsibility of the remitter. Please note that payment by SGD cheque is subject to bank charges and a minimum of 21 working days cheque clearing period that can give rise to significant currency movements. These remain the responsibility of the remitter.

Payment of fees by instalment

School fees can be remitted to the College in 10 equal monthly instalments. Instalments are payable from 1st July – 1st April to ensure that total fees are remitted to the College in advance of each term.

Notice of withdrawal

A full term’s notice, as set out in our Terms and Conditions, must be given for the refundable deposit to be returned. Any notice of withdrawal should be sent to the Master, via his PA, Ms Norita Ahad [email protected]

Sibling discount

A family with three or more children at the school at the same time is entitled to a 5% discount for the third and any additional children.

Additional Fees

Music Fees .
The standard charges for Music Tuition on an instrument or for singing per term are as follows:
45 minute lessons (individual), Year 5 – Upper Sixth: RM1,125+GST
45 minute lessons (paired), Year 5 – Upper Sixth: RM675+GST
30 minute lessons (individual), Year 2 – Year 4: RM750+GST
30 minute lessons (paired), Year 2 – Year 4: RM450+GST
Parents will be invoiced termly in advance for lessons. 5 school weeks notice must be given in writing to the Head of Music if the parents wish to cancel Music Tuition. Unless a request to stop lessons is received, lessons will automatically roll on from one academic year to the next.The normal expectation is that 30 lessons will be offered during the academic year, on average 10 per term. These lessons will generally be held during the academic day, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Further details regarding Music Lessons can be found on the Parent Portal.

In addition there is the option to hire most of the instruments offered at the College. A termly charge of RM100 will apply. If you wish for your son or daughter to hire an instrument, please send your enquiry to [email protected]

Support and Enrichment (and EAL) .
For those children requiring Learning Support and / or EAL lessons there will be an additional charge. The charge varies according to Senior or Prep School Pupil and group or individual lessons. For further information please contact the Support and Enrichment departments via the PA to the Head of the Senior School or the PA to the Head of the Prep School
Sports and Outdoor Activities .
The standard charges for Sports Tuition beyond the core curriculum per term (10 lessons) are as follows:
Tennis – Group RM 630+GST
Tennis – Individual RM 1,900+GST
Taekwondo – Group RM 250+GST
Centre Stage Drama – Creative Drama RM 650+GST
Centre Stage Drama – Trinity Syllabus RM 900+GST
Ballet RM 600+GST
*The charges above are excluding GST: 6%.
Boarding activities, school trips and any other costs incurred by the Pupil during the term are charged at cost.
External Exam Costs .
IGCSE – approximately RM 300 per subject, total exam cost per pupil in the region of RM 3,000 (June 2016). GST is not chargeable on examinations.

The fees are chargeable in Malaysia Ringgit (MYR) based on the exchange rate incurred by the school at the time of payment and will be included in the termly invoice.
Administrative Costs .
Supervision of Common Entrance or other entrance tests outside the College curriculum will be charged at RM 100 +GST per hour.The cost of obtaining a Student Visa is the cost of the visa plus a nominal processing fee.
