The evening of Friday 24th May proved to be a wonderfully balmy one and provided the perfect environment for the Upper 6th Leavers’ Ball. This is a major annual event at the College, at which we mark the end of the IB examinations for our leaving Upper 6th pupils. As guests arrived, they mingled with their aperitifs and pupils had the opportunity to thank beaks for their support over the course of the IB programme. As always, the atmosphere was joyous but also tinged with emotion for the leavers, as realisation began to dawn that this event marked the end of their journey through the Sixth Form.
The Wykeham Hall had been transformed in to a wonderfully fitting venue for this important celebratory occasion. A fine three-course Dinner awaited the 193 guests who were welcomed by the Master upon arrival. Ms Bridgman, Head of Sixth Form, gave a wonderful speech in what is her final year at Marlborough College Malaysia. The formalities were completed as the four senior prefects this year, Uma Scott, James Gibson, Alex Harkins and Caleb Sukh, gave their response to the Master’s charge. Music and dancing followed and the occasion concluded with some wonderful fireworks.
