The Saints Sevens is an annual tournament that brings together all the best local and international schools in Singapore, along with a handful of exceptional schools from other South East Asian countries. The competition, as well as the conditions, are testing and we knew the U14, U16 and U18 teams would be stretched throughout.
However, despite fierce competition, the MCM 1st team were overall winners in the U18 category, beating UWC East in the final, with captain Eberendhu Igwe winning Most Valuable Player. On the path to winning the tournament Marlborough College had notable victories over Tanglin Trust School and St Peter’s College, Sri Lanka.
The U16 team also had success, winning the Plate, after coming second in their group to the eventual winners. The U14 team came away with 3rd place overall, after beating SCC finalists Anglo-Chinese School Independent in their group. Both teams played some scintillating rugby and confirmed that the future of rugby at the College is in safe hands.
