MCM Rocks! The Beatles

Saturday 1st October saw the second MCM Rocks! concert take to the stage. The Beatles themed concert was a great success, with over fifty pupils performing to a packed Drama Hall.

The concert began with an arrangement of ‘Help!’ sung by the College Choir and accompanied by the College Orchestra, who then went on to provide an adapted Big Band accompaniment to a solo performance of ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’. Over the course of the evening, thirteen classic Beatles numbers were performed by pupils representing all five year groups in the Senior School, members of the Common Room, and some extremely talented Year 7 and 8 pupils. Many of the pupils performing were members of the newly formed ‘RocSoc’, a society within the College which celebrates, practises and performs music from a variety of popular music genres.

MCM Rocks! once again brought the Marlborough community together to enjoy some top quality music making from some remarkable musicians. We look forward to future concerts.
