MCM hosted its first friendly Swimming Gala on Tuesday against local schools, Excelsior and Tenby.
Marlborough gained an early lead due to their strength and control in the difficult stroke of butterfly. Backstroke and breaststroke followed and it was clear to see that all our pupils had grasped the importance of streamlining, which is taught during their weekly lessons.
The excitement rose with the start of the freestyle events. Splashes from leg kicks almost soaked the judges, whilst arms moved powerfully through the water. All competitors swam brilliantly and every school had winners in different disciplines.
It was a great occasion and credit goes to everyone in the swimming team, and their coaches; we look forward to the next gala.
