Chinese New Year

We invited a group of dragon and lion dance performers to the Prep School for our Chinese New Year celebrations. The group comprises of twenty four professional performers. It is believed that both dragon and lion dances will bring good luck and fortune and the longer the dragon is in the dance, the more luck it will bring to the community. In the lion dance, the two lions eat the lettuce and scatter it which gives the blessing of wealth. The lions also toss mandarins to some lucky pupils. It is believed that those who get the mandarins will have a good year.
